SMC Frosh · FAQ

Will there be overnight accommodation?

Yes, overnight accommodation will be provided as an opt in for a fee of $25 (September 8th - September 12th at NOON) and those who chose to do it will receive a ticket during registration on the first day; showers on residence and Hart House will also be available to these students. Students will be separated by gender and the rooms will be locked, so you can leave your belongings in the room all day.

Are meals included?

We will provide lunch and dinner from September 8th - September 11th and will have Grab n’ Go snacks available in the morning but we recommend students obtain their own breakfast if possible (Note: students living on res will have access to their meal plan). There will also be plenty of snacks, water and drinks available throughout the week and many places to get food located around our campus.

What do I need to bring?

If you are going to commute or live on residence during frosh week you won't need too much: a comfy pair of clothes and shoes (there will be a lot of walking), sunscreen and any health or medical equipment you may need (we will be outside and very active throughout the day) and possibly a change of clothes. For students staying overnight, we recommend bringing personal items (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, a towel, shower shoes, etc..). We also recommend bringing a sleeping bag and pillow; we will be providing mats! Remember to keep valuables at home!

I / My child really want to participate but I absolutely can't afford the fee. Is there anything I can do?

We want every student to be able to have this opportunity and believe financial difficulties should not restrict you. If you are not are not able to cover the full cost of orientation please contact the Coordinators at smcorientation@gmail.com and we will work with you to make it possible.

Do I have to show up everyday?

The registration fee includes every day of of the week, so you will benefit fully from attending every day, but it is not mandatory to attend every event.
